Training and Qualifications
"All staff are properly managed and supported through supervision from a senior member of staff."
All new staff complete a 6 month (extendable) probationary period. During this time they undergo a thorough induction program covering all mandatory courses under National Minimum Standards including Team Teach. On successful completion of the probationary period opportunities are given for enrolment on the NVQ 3 Care Award Scheme Children and Young People.
Training of staff will include:-
- Fire safety
- Infection Control
- Epilepsy
- Fire warden training
- Cultural Awareness
- Health & Safety including Risk Assessments
- Manual Handling
- Person Centred Planning
- Child Protection (Safeguarding)
- Communication
- Basic Food Hygiene
- Behaviour Management
Staff are formally appraised annually and have a training needs analysis completed. In November 2005 we were awarded the Investors in People Award.
